FAQ + Issues Here are some frequently asked questions about downloading: How do I view a WAP site on my phone (e.g. www.awjg.com)? This is done either in the WAP browser/internet part of the phone menu system or in the favourites/bookmarks part of the phone menu system. Most phones either allow you to enter a URL (web address) directly, or create a favourite/bookmark that you can use again. Phone menu systems can vary depending on phone manufacturer, phone model, country and network operator but the following list describes which menu items to select for WAP browsing on the most popular phone setups:
I can not browse wap sites using the UK Three (3) newtork Unfortunately the UK 3 network operate what is known as a 'walled garden', which means that you cannot browse the internet, only Three's wap site. How do I configure my phone for WAP browsing? Most phones should already be configured to use the WAP gateway of your network operator.
If your phone isn't, then contact your network operator for more information. Sometimes either your network operator or phone manufacturer will provide a website where you can enter your details and they automatically send you the settings via a free SMS text message, usually in the WAP settings part of the main website, for example:
I get a download failure when downloading the game Firstly, try again, sometimes it is just a cut-off network error. Secondly, not all WAP gateways support Java downloads and some WAP gateways may only support Java downloads for particular phone models. It is worth checking with your WAP gateway provider (usually your network operator), whether their WAP gateway supports Java downloads and whether your particular phone is supported. If your WAP gateway does not support Java downloads then try another WAP provider in your area. This is done by adding another WAP gateway configuration in your phone (most phones allow you to set up a number of WAP gateway providers and switch between them). Try the Services|Settings menu on Nokia phones, the Web Sessions menu on Motorola phones, and the Surf&Fun|Internet|Profiles menu on Siemens phones. In most cases you don't have to use the WAP gateway provided by your network operator, although it usually is cheaper to do so. The configuration information required to connect to different WAP gateways can usually be found with a country specific web search for 'WAP settings' e.g. searching Google for 'WAP settings UK' should return some pages that have the WAP settings for different providers in the UK. If you know the name of a particular operator then add that to the search. Alternatively if you know of a particular network operator then most operators provide their WAP settings on their websites. For the UK, popular WAP gateway settings are: Vodafone GSM
Orange GSM
O2 GSM
I can download but the installation fails Some phones (e.g. Motorola T720), will download a game, try to install the game, and then fail because there isn't enough storage space. This problem is usually solved by deleting other Java applications on your phone and re-downloading. Settings menu not working properly on Nokia 6600 with old Nokia firmware versions On Nokia 6600 phones with Nokia firmware versions below v4.09.1, there is a bug in the Nokia firmware's Java implementation which prevents the game's Settings menu from working properly. This is a know issue for Nokia, and Nokia have fixed the problem in firmware version 4.09.1. The problem arises when settings are changed, an acknowledgement prompt is displayed, but this prompt is then never removed from the screen. If you are encountering this problem we recommend that you contact your phone vendor to get a Nokia firmware upgrade. To workaround the problem, you can exit the application, the settings are saved anyway and will take effect the next time you run the game.
